General test method and operation steps of DC high voltage generator

  Special attention: if DC high voltage generator is used for capacitive load test, it must be connected with upper current resistance.

  1. The integrity of DC high-voltage generator shall be checked before use. The connecting cable shall be free of open circuit and short circuit, and the equipment shall be free from abnormal damage such as rupture.

  2. Place the chassis and voltage doubler at appropriate positions and connect the power line, cable and grounding wire respectively. The protective grounding wire, working grounding wire and grounding wire of discharge rod shall be separately connected to the grounding wire of the test object (i.e. one point grounding). It is forbidden to connect the grounding wires in series. For this purpose, DHV special grounding wire shall be used for grounding.

  3. Put the power switch in the off position and check that the voltage regulating potentiometer should be in the zero position. The setting value of overvoltage protection is generally 1.1 times of the test voltage.

  4. First, boost the no-load voltage of DC high-voltage generator to verify whether the setting of overvoltage protection is sensitive.

  5. Turn on the power switch. At this time, the red light is on, indicating that the power is turned on.

  6. Press the green button, the green light is on, indicating that the high voltage is connected.

  7. Slowly adjust the voltage regulating potentiometer clockwise, and the output end will increase the voltage from zero. After rising to the required voltage, record the reading of ammeter according to the specified time, and check whether the control box and high-voltage output line have abnormal phenomena and sound.

  8. Depressurize, return the voltage regulating potentiometer to zero, then press the red button to cut off the high voltage and turn off the power switch.

  9. The DC high voltage generator shall conduct leakage and DC withstand voltage test on the test object. After the inspection test is carried out to confirm that the tester is normal, the leakage and DC withstand voltage test of the test object can be started. Connect the test object and ground wire, and turn on the power supply after checking that there is no error.

  10. Boost to the required voltage or current. The boost speed should be 3-5kv test voltage per second. When boosting the test object with large capacitance, it is also necessary to monitor that the charging current of the ammeter does not exceed the maximum charging current of the tester. For small capacitance test objects, such as zinc oxide arrester and magnetic blowing arrester, first rise to 95% of the required voltage (current), and then slowly and carefully rise to the required voltage (current). Then read out the voltage (current) value from the digital display meter.

  If it is necessary to measure 0.75udc-1ma of zinc oxide arrester, first rise to udc1ma voltage value, and then press the yellow button. At this time, the voltage will drop to 75% of the original value and remain in this state. The current can now be read. After the measurement is completed, the voltage regulator will return to zero at counterclockwise and press the green button. Press the red button to boost the voltage again. If necessary, compare the voltage on the control box with the external high voltage divider.

  11. After the test, depressurize and turn off the power supply.
